World Geography is a yearlong study of the richness and variety of the face of our planet. Students will gain an understanding of the physical and human characteristics of places, the physical processes that shape the patterns of the earth’s surface, the complexities of Earth’s cultural mosaics, and the ability to map and organize information about people, places and environments.

Humanities provides students with an overview of world history, from ancient civilizations to the present, with an emphasis upon geography. Students develop the ability to compare and contrast cultures and appreciate their influences upon our culture. This course also provides opportunities to teach practical application of study skills including note taking, test taking, scanning for main ideas, and writing essays. The course is enhanced by frequent utilization of dramatization and other creative teaching techniques.
